Sea Eagle Chick is feeding for herself.

This year's Sea Eagle chicks at Portree have come on very strongly with the female
managing to feed for herself, which, as I understand it, is unheard of at such a young age.
At the beginning of October I witnessed the female chasing a Black-backed gull which had taken
the fish that I had thrown from the boat. The gull dropped the fish in the sea and the eagle chick swooped down and retrieved the fish.
This was quite an event in itself but later on that same day the Sea Eagle chick was literally
flying around the boat looking for fish.
This has continued ever since with the young bird competing with the adults to get to the fish
first.
The male chick is not as adventurous yet and is still being fed by the adults.
